Romney Loses Florida, Blames Monaghan

St. Petersburg, Fla. (AP)--In unscripted and unusually candid remarks, former Massachusetts Governor and Republican Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney expressed exasperation in losing yesterday's Florida primary to Arizona Senator John McCain. Late last night leaving St. Petersburg to campaign for the upcoming Super Tuesday primaries, Romney in an unguarded moment complained about the "damn albatross around [his] neck." Sources close to Romney indicate that the "albatross" referred to is the support of Pizza Billionaire Tom Monaghan. Recently, Monaghan has created controversy with his "Catholic town" Ave Maria Town and the establishment of Ave Maria University. A noticebly irritated Romney staffer, speaking on condition of anonymity, said "Mr. Romney once said that '[Monaghan's] philanthropic work has touched the lives of millions.' That may be true, but I think that it is safe to say that all those he has touched have developed a yeast infection."
