Law, culture, and Catholicism...up in smoke!

Prayers for Thursday and Friday

Those who have been daily communicants here at Fumare for a while might recall that this little blog was started so that a few AMSL alumni, dispersed geographically, might keep in touch. It was six months old before much of anything was said about the governance of our alma mater. Mostly, we simply commented on general issues of law, culture, and Catholicism.

One of the original Fumaristi was a man who was Thursday. Not long after Fumare started, Thursday began dating a beautiful lass, his gal Friday, and one Saturday Sunday about 10 months ago Thursday and Friday were joined in Holy Matrimony. Thursday and Friday were expecting their first child, a little girl, on Good Friday. But, as reported by Friday's sis (and sometimes Fumare puffer) Wimsey:
[Friday] was scheduled for a C-section Friday morning because her baby is breech and sitting on her feet. However, she went in for a scheduled doctor's appointment [Wednesday] and they decided to admit her to the hospital and to move the C-section up to [Thursday] morning because of some concern that the baby is measuring small, though the tests so far have come back fine. [Thursday] is in the army in basic training at the moment (about 2 hours away), so the Red Cross is trying to get him home in time for the birth.
Please take a moment's rest from whatever you are doing at this moment and send up a real Ave Maria for Thursday, Friday, and their little almost-born daughter. This includes you too, Dean Dobranski, Fr. Orsi, Alex Vernon, and any of our other closet readers. God willing, all will go well for this young family! We will keep you posted here.

Thank you.

UPDATE: At approx 7:45 this morning, Thursday and Friday welcomed their beautiful daughter [Wednesday] into the world. She was 6 lbs. 7 oz. and, reports a proud Thursday, a 10 on the Apgar scale! (Translation for single men: she's doing just fine already an overachiever.) Praise God!
