Law, culture, and Catholicism...up in smoke!

Tuesday, October 10, 2006

To answer the questions that have been posed in some of the "puffs" below and to set the record straight, it is true that the ABA is currently interested in the law school. When questioned by a student at the student forum held on Thursday, September 28, 2006, the Dean acknowledged receiving a notice from the ABA that a complaint was filed over issues of faculty governance. The administration must now respond. Dean Dobranski indicated that he could not comment further while he is in the process of responding. Yet, he did further comment to the students that he is confident nothing will come of it; that we've had five years of very close scrutiny by the ABA for accreditation that included many site inspections and committee oversight. According to the Dean, during that accreditation process, not once was faculty participation in governance broached as an issue.

My query: Given the tumultuous past year, don't you think a man of character and integrity would resign for the love of and stability of the law school? So much for "laying down one's life...."
